A young couple with their four children wanted to build their new home.

After spending a long time looking for a land close to the husband’s main office, they found a 2400 sqm land with a beautiful view overlooking Beirut and the southern suburbs. This land has a rectangular shape with too many constraints; 14 meters of denivelation and 3 roads as well as the surrounding high-rise buildings.

Taking all of the above into consideration, we first created a front yard as a luxury main access, with 2 lower gates to the parking and to lower storage. We elevated the bedrooms and the private area to 4.5 meters from the ground level, giving the reception floor the best view possible. We extended the basement cover slab with a corner infinity pool to have a raised outdoor area at the ground level as per the topography.

This expansion produced a large underground floor that consists of a wine cellar, gym, home theatre, playground, parking, maid’s room, and a driver’s wing. We also designed an extension on top of the second basement fully dedicated to services.

This resulted in an architecture with floating boxes and pergolas.
